Suspicious man apprehended after at least three alleged burglaries in Mason City

MASON CITY – An alert law enforcement officer ran into what appeared to be a suspicious person and arrested him for multiple alleged burglaries in a Mason City neighborhood.

A Cerro Gordo county deputy spotted what appeared to be a suspicious male subject near Carolina Avenue and 15th Street SE in Mason City on January 13, 2018 at about 1:15 AM. The deputy soon determined that the subject, 22-year-old Joshuah John Hockenson of Mason City, committed at least three burglaries in the area within a few blocks of this location.

Hockenson was arrested on three burglary charges, carrying a dangerous weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of pretrial release on another burglary charge. He remains in the Cerro Gordo county jail at this time, awaiting upcoming court appearances.
