BURLINGTON – NIACC freshman Ben Boerjan fired a 40-39 – 79 at the Southeastern CC Fall Inivtational on Monday at Spirit Hollow Golf Course.
NIACC placed ninth in the team standings with a 357. William Penn A won the 10-team invitational with a 293 and DMACC was second with a 295.
“I’m very pleased with Ben’s two rounds this fall,” NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. “He drives the ball well and always stays in the moment.
“He’s very level headed, which I love to see, and he never gives up.”
Also for the Trojans on Monday, Anthony Emmanuel shot a 44-46 – 90; Jordan Voves shot a 45-46 – 91; Josh Schaefer shot a 51-46 – 97 and Devin Koob fired a 45-53 – 98.
Sophomore Courtney Tusler fired a 48-41 – 89 to pace the NIACC women.
NIACC placed fourth with a 397. DMACC won the four-team invitational with a 351.
“Courtney Tusler did a really good job battling all day,” Frenz said. “An 89 is pretty good on this tough of a golf course. She came through nicely (Monday).
Also for the Lady Trojans, Brooke Maasch shot a 49-50 – 99; Sydney Fullerton shot a 47-52 – 99; Ashley Alert shot a 54-56 -110 and Kelli Wilson shot a 73=57 – 130. Playing as an individual, Katelyn Loegering shot a 53-48 – 101.
