MASON CITY – Alliant Energy announced tree planting projects in Mason City totaling nearly $10,000.

This fall, Alliant Energy plans to plant street trees in the south part of town, along the 500-800 blocks of South Washington, South Adams and South Jefferson Avenues and the 100-200 blocks of 6th-8th Street SW.

The project will cost $9,720.

Rudd Lake

Also, in the North Iowa area, Rudd will get $2,040 worth of trees in Rudd Lake Park.

Alliant partners with Trees Forever for the “Branching Out” project.

“Every Branching Out project focuses on long-term tree care with a special emphasis on energy efficiency and conservation. We are pleased to continue a long-term partnership with Alliant Energy in a combined effort to educate Iowans on the importance of trees, and improve our environment one community at a time,” said Shannon Ramsay, president and CEO of Trees Forever.

Before making a decision on which trees to plant, it would be a nice idea as stewards of the environment to plant trees that help promote the survival and multiplication of bees in the area.

You do know that who ever owns the windmills in Iowa has for the past 10 years hired a company -something like Alpaudo to remove 10s of thounsands of trees for the windmills and their right of way roads – Facto – see their fleet of 6 large trucks for this area gasing up at Caseys all the time. Nice to replant – but the wind speed in Worth county is double that of you southerners in cerro gordo. Just to set the record straight on giving and taking.

this is the funniest post I’ve seen in a while. 10’s of thousands of trees? worth county must be barren by now. You win the award for most dramatized fake news post today.

I’m sure he’s talking about trees cut down all over not just in Worth county.

I’m sure he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Tree companies are hired to trim trees that affect the power lines, usually just by trimming branches away from existing power lines, not removing the tree

Over the last 10 years cutting down 1000 trees per year -Lots of small ones – (the also tow large wood chippers so you really don’t see the huge piles of dead trees – but I KNOW and SEE the crews -cutting results (before/after) but being you probably are a public servant or a somehow paid servant of the corporations you can call me a racist because that’s the only fkn answer you have.

I agree -I believe they cut down every damn tree they could lay their hands on between the Minnesota border and the casino.

First of all, the tree company is Asplundh.

Wind speed doubled, eh?
You may want to check facts before “blowing wind out of your ass”.
Average wind speed 18.06 mph Worth County, IA
Average wind speed 17.00 mph Cerro Gordo County, IA
