Two North Iowa men hurt after collision in rural Cerro Gordo county

RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – Two North Iowa men were hurt after a collision in rural Cerro Gordo county Saturday morning.

The accident took place Saturday, August 19 at around 7:55 AM. A 1998 Dodge Truck being operated by 34-year-old Aaron Thomas of Kensett, Iowa was north bound on Yarrow Ave. A 2008 Ford Truck being operated by 28-year-old Kyle Kapustynski of Osage, Iowa was westbound on 310th Street. The two vehicles entered the intersection of Yarrow Ave and 310th street at the same time; the westbound Kapustynski truck striking the passenger side of the north bound Thomas truck. The impact of the collision caused both trucks to roll and enter the ditch. Kyle Kapustynski and his passenger, 26-year-old Trevor Kapustynski of Osage, Iowa were both transported to Mercy Hospital by Mason City Fire Medics for non-life threatening injuires.

The accident remains under investigation.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Mason City Fire Medics and Plymouth First Responders.
