HAMPTON, IOWA – A Hampton man was reported missing Friday, and a police search was conducted with a canine to help locate him.
Hampton Chief of Police Robert Chief Schaefer says that at approximately 9:15 PM Thursday, July 27, the police department received a report of a missing person. Antonio Torres age 72, walked away from his home in Hampton earlier in the day.
To help locate Mr. Torres, a search was conducted using a trained canine. The search was called off at approximately 12:52 AM the next morning, Chief Schaefer said, and was to resume later in the morning. The public was notified to help send information to police that might locate him.
A few hours later, however, Chief Schafer said Mr. Torres was located.
