MASON CITY – Law enforcement chased a man through Mason City’s North End Thursday morning.

On July 27, 2017 at about 9:40 AM, officers of the Mason City Police Department were attempting to arrest 28-year-old Jamal Rashad Walker from Mason City in the 900 block of North Washington Avenue when he took off running in an apparent attempt to flee the arrest. After a short foot pursuit, Walker was taken into custody without incident and then jailed.

Walker is being charged with violation of a No Contact Order (a Serious Misdemeanor), and 2 counts of Interference with Official Acts (a Simple Misdemeanor).

Assisting at the scene was the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department.
