CHARLES CITY – One person is dead after a shooting in Charles City Friday night, and police have zeroed in on a suspect.
Charles City police say that on June 30, 2017 at 9:46 PM, the CCPD took a call of shots fired in the 2100 block of Clarkview Drive. An ambulance was called for a victim. That victim was transported to the Floyd County Medical Center where they were pronounced dead.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation was called to assist and through the investigation Antoine Williams was developed as a suspect. Williams, age 36, is a black male who is 6’07” and weighs about 250 pounds. A warrant has been issued for 1st degree murder for Williams. He is currently not in custody. He is considered armed and dangerous. He may be in a red 2006 Chevy Equinox with Iowa plate DOW568.
Police advice, do not approach Willims and instead call you local law enforcement agency if you spot him.
