MASON CITY – A Mason City man is guilty of drunk driving for a third time.
Mason City police stopped a vehicle at the 300 block of 3rd Street NE at about 2:36 AM Saturday, August 20, 2016. During the traffic stop, the officer determined that the driver, 39-year-old Daniel Martez Judon III, was intoxicated and had no valid driver’s license.
As a result, Judon was arrested for first-offense operating while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license. He was taken to the county jail, booked and soon released, pending a court date. He soon entered a not-guilty plea, and after several delays in court, he and his public defender finally pled guilty to the charge of first-offense operating while intoxicated.
Judon was sentenced to 2 days in jail, lost his driver’s license, and must pay $1,983.50 in fines and court fees.
Judon was caught twice in Cerro Gordo county in 2001 for drunk driving and was guilty of both counts.
