RURAL BUCHANAN COUNTY, IOWA – The awe-shucks Iowa farm boy who starred in ABC’s hit TV show “The Bachelor” is behind bars today after a fatal auto accident Monday.
The Iowa State Patrol has confirmed in a report that, Chris Soules, age 35 of Arlington, Iowa, is now in the Buchanan county jail after being arrested in connection to an accident that happened at 8:20 PM Monday night, April 20, at the 1000 block of County Road W45 near Aurora, Iowa. Reportedly, Soules was the driver of a 2008 Chevy Pickup that rear-ended a John Deere tractor. The collision put the tractor in a ditch and the driver later died at a local hospital.
The deceased’s tractor driver’s name was released later Tuesday; Kenneth E. Mosher was 66-years-old of Aurora, Iowa.
It has now been reported that alcohol was found at the scene of the crash, but police won’t say who it belongs to. Soules has a drunk driving conviction on his record.
TMZ reports that Soules was booked on a charge of leaving the scene of a fatal accident and may have later received medical attention.
Soules starred in season 19 of the hit ABC show “The Bachelor”.
