MASON CITY – Firefighters were sent to the Mega Coin Laundry in Mason City for a blaze and lots of smoke Saturday.
Mason City firefighters were sent to the Mega Coin Laundry, located at 1909 4th Street SW in Mason City, after 2 PM Saturday after a report of a fire. At the scene, a bystander tells NIT “Clothes burning out on the ground. Fire department spraying water on them in the parking lot. Smoke everywhere.”
The fire and smoke seems to have affected the Jimmy John’s restaurant next door, as the doors to both establishments were “propped open” a witness tells NIT.
“Smoke filled the laundry,” the witness says.
Three fire trucks and police were at the scene, but no ambulance.
NIT will have more detail when it becomes available.
