Elusive Iowa child molester caught and jailed

FAYETTE, IOWA – A man who molested a young child and refused to comply with the Iowa’s sex offender registry was caught by police and taken to jail.

On December 19, 2016 the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office filed charges on Keith M. Taylor, age 53 for failing to register as a sex offender for the third time, a class D Felony. An investigation showed Taylor had moved to Elgin, Iowa on December 5, 2016 and he had failed to register within the five day limit under Iowa Law.

On December 20, 2016 at approx. 9:03 PM, a Fayette County Deputy arrested Taylor at his residence in Elgin. Taylor had a valid warrant for his arrest for failure to register and provide false information 2nd or subsequent offense. Taylor was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail where he was held on a $5000.00 dollar cash or surety bond.

Taylor has at least 8 aliases, according to iowasexoffender.com. His victim was a female child 13-years of age or younger.
