MASON CITY – CENT Credit Union is formally announcing the purchase and renovation of two vacant buildings in Mason City for use as CENT locations:
The CENTer: CENT has purchased the former Bank of America building (25 West State Street) adjacent to the Historic Park Inn and Central Park in downtown Mason City. This facility has been vacant since the closure of Bank of America in August, 2016. It will serve as CENT’s new headquarters, and will allow for tremendous growth in employment and opportunities to serve new and future members.
CENT WestSide: CENT has purchased the former Community National Bank building (3124 4th St. SW) located next to Applebee’s and Mills Fleet Farm on Mason City’s west end. The facility has been vacant for approximately three years.
“This is truly a monumental day in the history of CENT Credit Union,” said Matthew Chizek, CENT President and CEO. “Since 1965, we’ve been focusing on helping the people in this community, and thanks to their support, we’re able to make this change.”
“We’re also honored to provide a tremendous service to the city of Mason City by finding new use for a large unused property right in the heart of downtown, and a long-vacant building on the growing west side,” Chizek said.
Relocation into the new facilities is expected to be complete on May 1, 2017. As part of the relocation, CENT’s two current locations will close.
