More clues uncovered in theft of ATM from Rockwell bank

ROCKWELL – Local law enforcement is attempting to unravel the mystery behind the theft of an ATM machine from a Rockwell bank, and more clues have been uncovered.

The Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s office says that early Christmas morning, December 25 at approximately 3:17 AM, the Cerro Gordo Sheriff’s Office responded to a businesss theft at First Security Bank in Rockwell, located at 319 E. Main St. Rockwell.

Law enforcement was told that an ATM was taken from the bank. During the alleged theft, property to the bank sustained extensive damage.

The Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s office says today that a white 2004 Ford Pickup believed to be the get away vehicle was discovered in Floyd County on Christmas day at 3:04 PM by the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office near the intersection of 165th and Red Ball Avenue. This is the same pickup reported stolen December 13, at 7:04 AM from Martin Marietta Quarry, located at the 19000 mile of 245th Street.

The ATM was recovered in the 24000 mile of 225th Street later that day on December 25 at 11:30 PM by Cerro Gordo County deputies. The ATM is a total loss and all ATM money is missing. The total value of money and ATM is over $10,000.00
