CHARLES CITY – A Charles City man found himself behind bars this week after an Ohio teen was reported missing and police found her with him.
On Saturday, December 10 at about 10:55 AM, the Charles City police department received a call from the Pickerington, Ohio Police department reporting that a 14-year-old girl was taken and was listed missing/runaway at the time. Through the investigation, it was determined that a suspect male and the juvenile female were possibly in the Charles City area. Officers were able to locate the subjects in the 500 block of Clinton Street. After several hours, the girl was recovered by officers.
Mark Lynch, age 34 of Charles City, was arrested and charged with harboring a runaway child. A search warrant was executed at the house in the 500 block of Clinton Street on Saturday evening. Police say more charges are pending as the case develops. The Floyd county sheriff’s office assisted in the case.
Lynch appears to have been released from jail on December 12 as he awaits a December 30 hearing.
