While the percentage of overall voters might have been deemed light, it was the outright thrashing of O’Brien that sent an unmistakable “shot across the bow” of Bookmeyer’s ilk.
Paul Adams’ totals tell a much greater story; O’Brien was mostly portrayed as Bookmeyer’s man. What then does that say? It says Bookmeyer is toxic… not a man to be connected with any longer. People were voting against Bookmeyer and it wasn’t close. When Alex Kuhn died it woke up this city. Those councilpersons who voted yes were stripped bare, the facade that they hid behind is gone…
I think Adams will do well for our city and I think Alex would be more than pleased.
