Webster City school board member accused of sexual abuse of minor

WEBSTER CITY – A Webster City School Board member has been arrested and faces sexual abuse charges stemming from alleged crimes committed against a minor.

Paul Stenger, age 64, is listed as the Director of the Webster City school board on the school district website. Stenger has been charged by the Webster City police department with lascivious acts with a child (fondle or touch) and second-degree sexual abuse after an alleged crime committed back in January of 2014 against a child under the age of 18. A warrant for his arrest was issued December 6 and he was arrested that day. He was taken to the Hamilton county jail and held on $15,000 cash bond. He awaits a December 20 hearing.

Stenger was elected in September of 2015. His term expires in September of 2019. If convicted, he could face as much as 10 years in prison plus fines.
