CEDAR FALLS – The Iowa Board of Regents continues to meet in Cedar Falls this week and approved proposed conditional tuition and mandatory fees for the 2017-2018 academic year, boosting the cost to college students by 2% at the state universities.
Students at the University of Iowa will pay $7,270, up from $7,128 this year. Students at the Iowa State University and University of Northern Iowa will pay $7,240, up from $7,098. Mandatory fees also increased.
The board also pondered a potential 2% increase for the 2018-2019 year, but no action was taken on that idea.
Later Tuesday, the board will announce the next president at the University of Northern Iowa.

No! Your all wrong. They need to make sure that only a certain class of people are able to afford college and that is the elite. Is too many people get a college education it makes it harder for the elites to get the higher paying jobs because of more competition. The goal is to make college even at the state level so expensive that it’s unattainable for middle class citizens.
