DES MOINES – The NIACC Dance Team received three Division I ratings in its three routines at the Iowa Dance State Championships Friday in its first-ever competition.
NIACC tied for third with Southwestern in the community college division in its Pom routine. Iowa Central won the Pom routine and Kirkwood placed second.
In the Hip Hop competition, NIACC placed fourth. Iowa Western and Iowa Lakes tied for first, Kirkwood was second and Southwestern was third.
In the Jazz competition, NIACC placed fourth. Iowa Central was first, Iowa Western was second and Kirkwood was third.
This is the 11th year for college teams at the Iowa Dance State Championships.
