Mason City man facing drug charges after alleged domestic assault

CLEAR LAKE – A Mason City man was taken to jail after a domestic incident and now faces two drug charges.

Maysen Allen Simmer, age 22 of Mason City, was arrested by Clear Lake police on November 27. He was taken to the Cerro Gordo county jail and booked in after midnight on charges of domestic abuse assault involving strangulation, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. A no-contact order was placed against Simmer by a judge and a hearing date was set for December 16. He was eventually released after seeing a judge.

Simmer is also facing a drug charge after he was found with marijuana and paraphernalia back on November 16. He’s due in court on that case on November 30.

Isn’t it strange that almost all of these domestic assault cases have illegal drugs involved. Makes one wonder if they are altering brains.

Actually alcohol, a legal drug, had more to do with this then the pot.

Strange. That is not what the police reports say. No mention of alcohol at all but almost every ones says illegal drugs.

That is because alcohol is not an illegal drug. Duh
