COLUMBUS, OHIO – An active shooter was reported on the Ohio State University campus Monday morning, and at least 8 people were hurt in an attack that may have involved a knife rather than a gun.
Students were advised to “Run Hide Fight” as the announcement was made, and to avoid certain areas of campus.
By 11:14 AM, the shelter in place had been lifted and the scene was secure. The attacker was killed, reportedly with gunfire.
A student told CNN that the attacker “pulled a large knife and started chasing people around, trying to attack them.”
Law enforcement will reportedly continue to have a visible presence on the campus today. All academic classes on the Columbus campus were cancelled for the remainder of Monday.
Police continue to process the crime scene, and people were advised to continue to keep away from the area.
President-elect Donald J. Trump said in a statement that he was “watching the news unfold at Ohio State University. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the students and administration.”

The guy was a Somali refugee that pulled a fire alarm to get the students on the sidewalk, then he ran into the crowd with a car, got out and started stabbing anyone he could reach with a big knife. A police officer arrived withing one minute and shot the a-hole dead, but he did a lot of damage in that one minute. Obama wants to let in more of these people and we need to stop him.
I agree entirely. Atrocities like this are becoming more and more common.The important thing is, how we.. as Americans, react to events like this. The last thing we should do is to look around at our world, and ask ourselves, “what changes should America make to keep from offending these people?” No. It is NOT our fault. This jihad insanity started 1400 years ago, and it is gaining momentum every day. The civilized world must all recognize this and take steps to stop this barbaric ideology, and not placate or appease it in any way. ISIS, Al Qaeda, Al Shabab etc should have been crushed years ago, instead of leaving this evil for our grandchildren to inherit. The best way to encourage aggression is to confront it with weakness.
