MASON CITY – A convicted meth dealer who got off easy is back behind bars.
Kurt Kunzman, age 48 of Mason City, was rounded up by the North Iowa Narcotics Task Force along with 18 other suspected dealers of methamphetamine last December. He was able to work a plea deal and walk free with a deferred judgement, 5 years of probation and bill of $1,996.00 in fines and court fees.
However, records show Kunzman has only managed to pay $50.00 towards his debt since his judgement was handed down in April. A probation violation report was filed, and Kunzman was wanted on a warrant until he turned himself in before 2 AM on November 24. He remains held in the county jail on $10,000 bond as he awaits a December 19 hearing.
