DAVENPORT – An Iowa man was taken to jail after police raided his home and discovered more than 100 lbs. of illegal pot.
A Davenport, Iowa police tactical unit was called to a residence November 16, court records show, to conduct a drug investigation. At the house on West 14th Street, police allegedly discovered well over 100 lbs. of marijuana neatly packaged and possible drug-dealing materials such as thousands of dollars in cash and a scale.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested 37-year-old Nathan James Hall on a felony drug charge and for use of an illegal drug tax stamp.
Court records show Hall posted $10,000 surety bond the next day and was released from jail as he awaits a December 8 arraignment.
Over time, it is easy to spot the long term effects on a pot smoker. I often wonder where MAAD stands on this issue. And what about all those that are quick to jump on tobacco smokers and treat them like pond scum????
You can say the same about alcohol, over time it is easy to spot the long term effects on a alcohol drinker.
But are the long term effects necessarily bad or detrimental? That in itself is subjective because what’s a problem with one person isn’t for another. Take Michael phelps for instance. He smokes marijuana and is open about it and has more Olympic gold than any other swimmer.
The way I see it the benefits of marijuana far outweigh the negatives. More and more Americans are seeing its potential and are changing their views. Lol marijuana was leagalized (in one form or another) in more states than Hillary Clinton won. That means more Americans trust marijuana more than her…and who could blame them.
End marijuana prohibition. End the war on drugs as well. You’ll never win because marijuana will never go away.
If marijuana is to be legalized in Iowa it will be in SPITE of the common citizen. The everyday Iowan follows orders from Des Moines, so the real convincing needs to be done elsewhere.
Legalized but what undercover police do for there supply
Just think of the tax revenue this state could be making if marijuana was legal. Instead we spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to investigate, prosecute and jail non-violent marijuana users. More and more states are legalizing marijuana. What are your thoughts, both pro and con, on Iowa legalizing marijuana?
If people were responsible enough to use it responsibly it would be O.K. But, they are not. Look at the number of people in trouble now and it is still illegal. It is not the harmless drug people try to tell you it is. No matter what they say it has been proven over and over to be a gateway drug.
Just a thought but do you think there may a lot of people that do use it responsibly, just like alcohol, but they do not do so publicly because it is illegal? Maybe the only ones we here about are the abusers because they get into trouble, kind of like the alcohol abuser? Just food for thought.
I also think the only reason it would be a gateway drug is because right now you have to buy it from drug dealers who also may expose you to more dangerous drugs they are selling. Would it be a gateway drug if sold in a liquor store were the only other drug available to you was liquor?
Did you ever think that the only reason people get in trouble is because it’s illegal? Many people arrested have no other criminal record. And if they do it’s usually got something to do with alcohol. That’s the gateway drug. If you have no personal experience with it you really have no clue about it. You’re just repeating what you are told. Don’t buy into the propaganda that it’s evil and the people who use it are bad.
That said if you have had bad experiences with it, that’s your perception of it. Don’t think everyone else has the same attitude towards it.
I would agree, i know a lot and I mean a lot of professional and successful people that use it and use it responsibly.
I would bet people would be shocked if they knew who actually smoked pot, you deal with these people everyday and have no idea they use. We don’t here about these people though, we only here about the criminals that use it.
Hate to tell everyone it’s not the weed that’s the problem.It is the Heroin and Meth that is so destructive,ruins families and the crimes they commits to feed their habits are the real problem (Murder,stealing,No work ethic, or total need to live those are the drugs that cause real problems.What the hell is alcohol if not a gateway drug if you want to compare and I would suggest maybe alcohol is more destructive.Need to get over the Reefer Madness attitudes and get to the real problems in society.
