AMES – On November 18, 2016, at 4:45 a.m., the Ames Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at Swift Stop, 3406 Lincoln Way. According to the clerk, the suspect entered the store and demanded money from the clerk while displaying a handgun. The suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect was last seen running southwest from the store. Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. No one was injured during the incident.
The suspect was described as a 20-30 year old black male, approximately 5’10” to 6’00” tall with a medium to stocky build. The suspect was wearing black clothing, a black face mask, hoodie and sunglasses.
