NEW YORK – President-elect Donald Trump is setting forth on a course to try to “drain the swamp” in Washington, D.C. and stamp out corruption.
As part of his “100-day plan” Trump proclaimed “NO MORE CORRUPTION IN WASHINGTON” and listed a bullet list of actions he endeavors to take, including:
– Term limits for Congress.
– Federal hiring freeze.
– 2 regulations eliminated for every 1 new regulation.
– 5 year-ban on White House and Congressional officials becoming lobbyists.
– Permanent ban on foreign government lobbying by White House officials.
– Complete ban on foreign lobbyists raising money for American elections.
Trump lambasted the rampant corruption and waste by career politicians and officials during his presidential campaign. He capitalized on the disgust many Americans feel toward Washington and was able to parlay his “Washington outsider” image into success at the polls. Whether he can get these points through Congress or not will be evident not long after he takes office, as Republicans control Congress but he railed against them in his tumultuous road to the White House.
Grassley…….support term limits…….. when Iowa PIgs Fly!
This is going to be a fun four years, there is no way that Congress is going to pass any of these. It will be crazy that we have a Republican President and a Republican Congress and they will not agree on anything. I wish President Elect Trump the best and hope hebcan get a few of these through Congress.
He WILL get them through. Congress has been warned and they know it.
