Stacyville man crashes into sign in alleged drunk driving incident

PLYMOUTH, IOWA – A Stacyville man was arrested after a traffic sign was snapped in half in an alleged drunk driving incident in Plymouth.

The collision was investigated by Cerro Gordo deputies on Sunday morning, November 13 at about 7:42 AM. Deputies were called to the 1200 block of Broad Street. Once the investigation was complete, they arrested 28-year -old Peter Lee Short of Staceyville on a charge of operating while intoxicated.

Short, who is facing domestic abuse charges at this time in Mitchell county, was taken to the Cerro Gordo county jail, booked and held briefly before he was released. He’ll be in court November 22 for a plea hearing for the domestic abuse case.
