MASON CITY – A Mason City hotel that has its share of commotion was paid a visit by code inspectors and police after complaints and a stolen bike was found.

Friday at 10:30 AM, several code enforcement personnel went to the American Best Value Inn and Suites, located at 24 5th Street SW. Police tell NIT that the code enforcement were called there to inspect for health, fire, electrical, hotel-motel, rental, and safety code compliance for the motel due to recent complaints.

According to a Mason City police spokesman, “law enforcement did accompany the code officials to ensure their safety and to keep the peace. The code personnel were there for approx 3 hours. No arrests were made but it does appear that 1 stolen bike was recovered.”
