RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – Three women received minor injuries after a car went out of control and landed in a creek in rural Cerro Gordo county.
The accident took place on October 23, 2016 at 1:13 AM. Cerro Gordo deputies from the responded to a collision just north of the intersection of 275th Street and Fir Avenue in Cerro Gordo County. Upon arrival, deputies found a passenger car in the creek on its side. Deputies spoke with the owner, Nicole Kathleen Thoe, age 20 of Venutra. Thoe was the only occupant remaining at the scene. Two other subjects, including the driver, left the scene prior to deputies’ arrival.
After an investigation by deputies, Allison Jo McGee, age 26 of Mason City, was found to have been driving the vehicle and lost control. There was also a third passenger in the vehicle, Brooke Nikole Starbuck, age 19 of Mason City, at the time of the accident.
Minor injuries were sustained by all three individuals. Thoe received a broken wrist during the collision.
McGee was charged with driving under suspension, driving under suspension (no SR-22 on file) and leaving the scene of a person injury accident.
