WHITTEN, IOWA – Human remains were fond this weekend in Hardin county, possibly those of a missing person.
On October 22, 2016 at approximately 7:45 PM, the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office received a report of human remains in a cornfield east of Whitten. Preliminary information indicates that the remains may be that of Ian Aiken, who was reported missing to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office on August 23, 2016. He had gone missing from his residence in Whitten.
Further information may be released pending autopsy results, as the incident remains under investigation.
The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations, and the Hardin County Emergency Squad.
