MASON CITY – A quick change scam artist has victimized a Mason City Hy-Vee store and may be working the area.

Mason City police confirmed to NIT that Hy-Vee West, 2400 4th Street SW, reported a quick change theft \on Monday, October 10 at 4:05 PM. Police said the actual theft occurred on the evening of October 8.

A police spokesman told NIT that “At this time, we are not releasing amount of money taken. Suspect was a darker-complected white male who spoke with broken English.”

The Fort Dodge Messenger News reported Thursday that a quick change scam artist had worked some magic at a Webster City bank. They reported that, according to Webster City police, a suspect of possible Hispanic decent had walked into the First American Bank in downtown Webster City on Tuesday of this week, near closing time with $2,500 in cash in $20 bills and after working over the cashier, left with an extra $1,050 in cash.

The Messenger News reported that the Mason City Police Department had said “the same suspect” was seen on Hy-Vee security footage in Mason City on Saturday, October 8 performing a quick change scam.

However, a Mason City police spokesman told NIT this afternoon that “I cannot confirm whether or not our suspect is the same as Webster City / Fort Dodge incident.”

Anyone with information in this case should call their local law enforcement agency.

Quick change SCAM ARTISTS = The bushes/oslammer/and Hillary Clinton the HAG.

Scam Artists = Worth county officials / Manly City council and Mayor.

Just thinking, they can’t be all that bad. Aren’t you getting a new bank building soon, and how’s that new Dollar General store working out for you.

Old WHITEY done it! – medium dark complected white guy? Sometimes known as hispanic? That means a dark complected white guy is a African? The democrats must think everyone but a crooked politician is stupid. Look at the friggin picture Comey – is that a WHITE guy? TOOO FUNNY!

The first sign of a scam is if someone pays for a pack of gum with a $100 bill. Then it just snowballs.

This has nothing to do with counting change back, it’s far more complicated than that. These guys use deception and confusion by overwhelming the cashier with bills, claiming they gave them a $20 instead of a $10 and then try to exchange denominations they already have for larger bills. These guys are easy to spot and all they need to do is shut the drawer and call a manager. All the manager would have to do is count the drawer, watch the video, and get rid of him. This only happens because the their is an artist and the employees haven’t been trained how to handle it.

Things are getting sad in this country. Doesn’t matter if it is a bank or a grocery store, if it doesn’t happen on a computer, people don’t know math, how to count back change, anything. Once the computer is off the grid, they are clueless with math, I have seen it hundreds of times.
