CHARLES CITY – A Charles City man remains jailed after he and up to two other people allegedly attacked a man at a convenience store.
The incident took place on September 26 at about 6:24 PM at the Casey’s General Store located at 1105 Blunt Parkway in Charles City. Officers with the Charles City police department were called there for a fight. When officers arrived, however, everyone was gone from the area, but, a person with facial injuries contacted police later and disclosed that they had sought medical attention. According to KCHA news, a man and two friends used kicks and punches to cause the victim to incur a broken nose and a broken lower eye socket.
An investigation was then undertaken by police, leading to a charge of felony willful injury and an arrest warrant for 20-year-old Sayvonne Jordan. Records show Jordan was picked up by police on the evening of September 30 at the 800 block of Richings Street. He was taken to the county jail, where he remains held as he awaits a hearing on October 10.
