MASON CITY – A Mason City man facing domestic abuse issues has been charged with a slew of felonies connected to dealing the dangerous drug methamphetamine.
The Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s office has brought two felony charges of delivery of methamphetamine against 30-year-old Jay David Teepe. In December of 2015, Teepe allegedly attempted to deal meth to an undercover informant working with law enforcement. Then, he tried to deal meth in January of this year and was caught again.
Mason City police tell NIT that they also delivered arrest warrants to Teepe. One on a charge of possession of meth with intent to deliver, stemming from a search warrant conducted at a rental house (connected to a Clear Lake realtor) at 843 East State Street, where Teepe lives, on April 18, 2015. Also during that search, marijuana was discovered along with paraphernalia, resulting in charges of possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.
Back on the evening of September 15, 2016, a Mason City police officer observed Teepe in the 600 block of North Delaware Avenue. Teepe attempted to flee from the officer but was soon apprehended after more officers assisted in a search for him. Once he was caught, officers found an illegal substance and drug paraphernalia. Teepe was arrested a warrant for failure to pay child support, interference with official acts and a felony charge of possession of an undisclosed illegal substance and paraphernalia.
Teepe is also facing a theft charge at this time, brough try Mason City police from an incident this past August. Also, on August 21, Teepe was arrested by Mason City police for domestic abuse assault. He is awaiting a December 13 trial now.
