Prestage Farms, why I vote for Jobs and economics. . What if works, What if we grow as a community ? What if the schools have to change, be diverse, hire more teachers, pay better or adapt? What if we open our cities to growth of diversity and change? As a child of Immigrant grandparents and entrepreneurs, I remember the stories of hard work and risk to make a better life for all. Living together to serve each other rather than its all about me. The upside is to great not to try to make North Iowa better. Low paying jobs, Yes there are going to be hundreds that start out at 12.50- 13.00 and hour.. Thats were they start, they will have to adjust that because most manufacturing in the area is above that, workers have to start some wage. What about Management, HR accounting and the hundreds of administrative jobs at $30-90K no one is talking about those.. Lets talk economics, Where did you start in life? Why did you leave them? Better pay, better benefits? Some are blessed by working for a corporation that’s payroll isn’t totally effected by community support. Most of our cities employees are. I am an independent business owner, I have been all my life. I don’t go to work I don’t get paid. I work with hundreds of businesses and employees that are affected by private funds (people) The impact of having a growth allows every business in North Iowa grow, pay better and to hire more people. Many are standing up in fear and hate on all the problems it may cause, that haven’t happened.. Most of these same people were against the casino, the distribution center and the recycling plant..and all of them are located in other community’s and thriving but not here in Mason City . I agree there are going to be issues, but non are true until they actually happen. Risk, What if it affects our town? No risk, No reward. We as a community have to stop looking for all the problems in this and work together for a solution for it to work.. The reason most other companies look right past North Iowa is because of this type of behavior from 10% of our population. My vote is for overall growth for North Iowa.
