Alex Kuhn, reviewing new deal with Prestage, not likely to support

From Councilman Alex Kuhn:

Following the May 3rd vote citizens on all sides of the issue advocating for what they truly feel is best for the community and their efforts are to be commended. It has been our job as elected Councilman to give every aspect of the project the due diligence it deserves. That is what you elected us to do and we have continued to do so. Ultimately, we have been tasked to reevaluate a new development agreement with terms that would be a win-win for our community, our citizens, and the company moving forward.

I have been clear on my why I felt we needed a more favorable agreement in terms of wages to better reflect the industry base wage to reduce the potential of high turnover rates, and incentives so the city, county, schools, and other taxing entities would obtain a much greater percentage of the funding to meet the long term needs of infrastructure, programming, social and economic support systems. I’ve exhaustively reviewed the agreement and what changes it would take to garner my vote. It appears we are too far apart at this point and any other proposal would be very difficult for me to support.

Alex exhibited sound judgment in voting against and maintaining his stance against this facility to the very end. This community owes him a deep debt of gratitude.

His action along with the other two no votes just might have broke the lock Bookmeyer had on these people….lets all hope so.

kuhn is anti growth and a coward and a two face he gives free money to bon ton because he does not want younkers to leave southbridge mall and blow his pet down town project with out even objecting to the development agreement between the city and bon ton the agreement said bon ton will not crate no jobs really looking out for the people of Mason City Alex, while Prestage would crate 1,700+ jobs time to go Alex

As I replied to your other comments about John Lee….

I could go into a multitude of comments that would dispel your
“thoughts”, but that would be a waste.

Suffice it to say, you’re an idiot.

…it would be interesting to try and find out just what the 3 members of council, who voted for (their choice) this project, saw differently than the 3 members who voted “NO”! According to the Mayor…it is these 3 members of the council who really have theirs heads “in the game” and totally stated they saw no “problems” in bringing this plant to MC. We know that (1) member voted yes due to the type of business he is in. Member number (2) voted “yes” because of the “ego” he has and the “power” he enjoys as a council member. Council person number (3), well it is anyone’s “guess” why she voted “yes”! Through her career she has exhibited very little original thought other than to “back slap” her peers concerning “their” comments on the issues. Good luck to all three in any up-coming elections!

Thanks Alex, we will not forget your bravery!

Stand your ground. Two down, one to go…

Good thinking. You’ll be the baddest man alive!!!!!

Thank You, for your evaluation and coming forward with your stance. Helps to dispel speculation!

There is no new agreement.??

Since when is there a new proposal on the table ?

Thank You Sir…

Thank you Alex Kuhn!

Thank you, Mr. Kuhn!
