DES MOINES – NIACC’s Jacob Day won the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4 minutes, 3.21 seconds at the Grand View Invitational on Friday.
Day’s time met the NJCAA national qualifying standard of 4:03.46.
Also in the men’s 1,500, NIACC’s Jose Aguilera placed third in 4:08.96 and Zach Freund was fourth in 4:11.53.
The Trojans won the 4×100-meter relay in 43.33 and they won the 4×800 in 8:27.35. Devon Webster was second in the javelin with a toss of 41.70 meters and Jacob Waddle was third (40.46 meters).
Also for the Trojans, Dorsey was fourth in the long jump (5.81 meters), Alex Vanderploeg was fourth in the high jump (1.83 meters), Finn Nightingale was sixth in the 200 (22.45 seconds) and Nick Frenz was sixth in the 5,000 (17:02.93).
For the NIACC women, Jordan Lane was third in the 1,500 (5:22.69), Steinunn Atladottir was third in the javelin (26.69 meters), Taylor Glawe was fourth in the high jump (1.50 meters) and Kendra Schmidt was sixth in the 800 (2:33.62).
