Minnesota man cited after running stop sign, colliding with Mason City woman’s car

ambulanceMASON CITY – A Mason City woman was taken to the hospital after a Minnesota man allegedly ran a stop sign and collided with her car.

Cerro Gordo deputies and other emergency responders went to a two-vehicle accident scene with injuries at about 1:39 PM on Friday, April 29, near Highway 122 and Killdeer Avenue, just West of Mason City.

Karen Clark, age 70 of Mason City, was Westbound on Highway 122 in a 2003 Ford Windstar van when it collided with a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder driven by 62 year old David Cuno of Red Lake Falls, Minnesota. Cuno was Southbound crossing Highway 122 when his vehicle was struck by Clark.

Clark was transported to Mercy Hospital to be evaluated. Cuno was cited for Failure to Obey a Stop Sign and No Insurance Accident Related. The accident remains under investigation.

Agencies assisting the Cerro Gordo sheriff’s office include Iowa State Patrol, Clear Lake Fire Dept and Mason City Fire Medics.

People need to pay some respect to Funeral processions. Please let them cross the road to the cemetery with the rest of their family members and friends.
