MASON CITY – A Louisiana man was doing more than shopping, allegedly, at the local Walmart and when he was caught, fled the scene.
Mason City police say that Wednesday night April 27 at 7:32 PM, Walmart employees tried to stop a subject suspected of shoplifting. The suspect, 35-year-old Cornelius Hawkins of Alexandria, Louisiana, refused to stop when ordered by loss prevention. Instead, Hawkins got into the passenger seat of a vehicle and fled the scene.
Officers began looking for the vehicle and a Cerro Gordo deputy made a traffic stop in the 1700 block of South Eisenhower.
As a result of that stop, Hawkins was arrested and jailed for fifth-degree theft. He was taken to the county jail, booked and later released pending a court date.
You can bet his ass was on its way back to Louisiana when he left the jail…
Good job police dept. Hate to say it but he looks like shop lifting is just a pass time – I think he has much larger irons in the fire – like to see his rap sheet ?
Our law enforcement does a rally good job. They must get terribly frustrated when the Libraterd Judges turn these scum bags loose after they risk their lives arresting this scum.

…don’t know what you are getting excited about here…maybe they didn’t have a “Wally-World” where he came from! Maybe he was drawn by the “allure” of the “cultural crescent” and all the statuary here…maybe he was jus’ waiting to sign up for one of the jobs (not likely) at the new pig processing plant…who knows!
He is on his way back to Louisiana by now. They come here because people from Chitcago have told them how easy it is to steal and push drugs here with the Loony Lefty judges we have.
