MASON CITY – Four team members from Northwestern Steakhouse in Mason City were recognized on March 18th as Iowa Restaurant Association “Stars of Hospitality.” To receive the recognition, restaurant employees must have worked in the same hospitality establishment for 20+ years. The honorees, Pam Bartholomew, Donna Meacham, Cindy Papouchis, and Matthew Rumeliote were presented their awards by Iowa Restaurant Association President and CEO Jessica Dunker.
In presenting the award Dunker commented, “Iowa’s restaurant industry offers a wide range of lifelong professional opportunities. The team at Northwestern Steakhouse is not only the backbone of our industry, they are the face of hospitality in our state . We are thrilled to honor them.”
The Iowa Restaurant Association is an advocacy organization supporting Iowa’s hospitality industry with educational and promotional programs across the state.
Northwestern Steakhouse has become an iconic venue in Mason City over the many decades it has been in operation.
Most recently, Mason City economic development officials including Mayor Eric Bookmeyer and North Iowa Corridor CEO Chad Schreck invited the Prestage Foods team to dinner at Northwestern Steakhouse, prior to the big announcement of the $240 million pork processing plant coming to town. The party of at least a dozen was treated to the best steaks that can be found, and all raved about their delicious meal.
