CHARLES CITY – Police cited a Charles City woman after she allegedly rear-ended a vehicle and caused injuries to others.
According to the Charles City police department, on March 11 at about 12:22 PM, officers responded to an accident on Highway 18 near the Brantingham Street intersection. Police say a 2012 Ford truck driven by 44-year-old Jeanette Mulcahy of Charles City was stopped there, facing east, and waiting for traffic to pass. At this time, a 2010 Nissan Altima driven by 32-year-old Margaret Lucas approached from behind and rear-ended the truck.
As a result of the collision, police say people involved in the accident sought medical attention, but did not specify who it was nor their injuries.
Total damage was estimated at $8,000, and Lucas was cited for failure to yield.
