MASON CITY – A Clear Lake bartender has been sent to jail for 30 days for felony drunk driving.
Ryan Michael Wagner, age 27, was stopped for speeding on July 5, 2015, by Clear Lake police. He was then arrested for drunk driving after an investigation by officers. He was charged with third offense operating while intoxicated, a felony.
Wagner, who claims via social media to be a bartender at Sips bar in Clear Lake, pleaded guilty in February. He was given a 5-year suspended prison sentence, 30 days in jail, and ordered to pay $4,660.75. His driver’s license was also revoked, and he must submit a DNA sample and serve 3 years of probation.
Wagner was also caught twice in 2007 for drunk driving, both times by Cerro Gordo deputies. He was given a deferred judgement, community service and probation after the first arrest in April. After his second arrest in October, his original $1,250 fine kicked in and he had to serve his original 2 days in jail. Both charges resulted in first offenses of operating while intoxicated.
