MASON CITY – In a developing story, a car has smashed into Godfather’s Pizza in Mason City.
The incident took place after noon Friday at the popular eatery, located at 1703 4th St SE, Mason City. A fire truck and a tow truck was a the scene, along with police. A white car smashed clean through the west main window at the dining room.
According to Mason City police:
Friday at about 12:28 PM, Mason City Police were dispatched to Godfathers Pizza at 1703 4th S.E. on the report that a vehicle had driven through the wall of the building there. Upon Officers arrival they indeed found that a 2015 Chevrolet Impala driven by 71-year-old Nancy Gabel of Mason City. The vehicle had gone through the west wall of the building. Mrs. Gabel stated that her foot slipped off the brake pedal and on to the gas pedal accidently. Once the vehicle crashed through the West wall it struck tables where patrons were sitting. No one was seriously injured in this accident, and police do not anticipate filing any charges.
