DES MOINES – Donald Trump upstaged the Fox News Republican presidential debate Thursday night, saying he raised millions at his own event while his adversaries fought it out.
As the GOP presidential candidates took to a stage in Des Moines to debate, Donald Trump held a fundraiser for veterans. He pulled out of the Fox News-sponsored debate earlier this week, saying Fox had treated him unfairly. In true Trump style, he set up his own, competing event, held in the same town at the same time – a fundraiser to raise money for veterans.
Calling it “an unbelievable night in Iowa with our great Veterans,” Trump claimed his event was a smashing success.
“We raised $6,000,000.00 while the politicians talked!” he announced. After his fundraiser, he claimed Fox News apologized to him, which the “news” outlet denied. He said he donated $1,000,000 to the cause.
There were protests at his event, as well, leading to a shouting match between them and Trump supporters.
The main GOP candidates still in the race – except Trump – were at the debate, including Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, Jeb Bush, John Kasich and Chris Christie. Much of their debate centered on immigration.
This is the final GOP debate before the Iowa caucuses finally are held Monday, February 1 at 6:30 PM.

This was a great event and raised a lot of money for Vets. Screw you negative people. The checks are going out. One of the causes near and dear to me is the Puppy Jake foundation that provides service dogs to Vets that need them. These negative comments below are pathetic. A lot of money was raised and it didn’t go to the Trump campaign.
Trump had an insider who works at FOX and this informant told Trump that Fox had assembled a number of very damaging video clips that would be used to play “gotcha” during the debate. Much like those used against Cruz and Marco. These dealt with his changing positions on gay marriage, abortions and guns. Hot button issues to say the least. Rather than face up to these he bailed out, took up the flag and played king of the mountain.
This is shaping up to be a frightening election. Ralph Nader comes to mind when he suggested voting NOTA-None Of The Above.

The website, which is nothing more than a single page with stock photos and a credit card donation form.
According to the domain registry information for Trump’s site, donaldtrumpforvets.com, the domain was not registered until Thursday morning.
Trump’s personal non-profit foundation, the Donald J. Trump Foundation, does not have a history of donating money to veterans or to veterans’ causes.

CNN – TERRIBLE COVERAGE – only heard Trump talk about 5 minutes the remaining 1 1/2 hours was either commercials or CNN reporters interviewing what sounded like anti Trump bimbos. CNN = Cruz News Network and NBC is Nothing But Clinton — Shameful and a disgrace our our veterans. Never watched CNN before and have no reason to trust their establisment owned organization again.
