MASON CITY – Sophomore Savannah Lentz scored 22 points and Diamond Miller scored 15 points with 13 rebounds to lead NIACC to a 83-68 victory over Iowa Lakes in an ICCAC women’s basketball contest Wednesday night in the NIACC gym.
The Lady Trojans also received 15 points from Anna Eckert and 13 points from Trudy Peterson.
The NIACC women have won 13 straight games in the series against Iowa Lakes. The last win in the series by the Lakers was a 71-46 win in the 2008-09 season.
Lentz now has 505 career points, which ranks 32nd in school history, Lentz passed Logan Anderson, who played at NIACC last season and scored 500 points.
Cortni Rush, who played for the Lady Trojans in the 2013-14 season, ranks 31st on the all-time list with 521 career points.
It was the second straight game that Miller recorded a double-double and the fourth of her careeer. She scored 16 points with 10 rebounds in last Saturday’s win over Southeastern.
Notes: Lentz has 128 career 3-point goals, which is tops in NIACC history … Trudy Peterson has 104 career 3-point goals, which is 7th in school history.
