WEST LAFAYETTE, INDIANA – Iowa (13-7, 3-5) fell to Purdue (15-4, 6-2), 90-73, in West Lafayette, Indiana, Sunday afternoon.
The team debuted a new starting lineup of: Whitney Jennings, Tania Davis, Ally Disterhoft, Chase Coley and Megan Gustafson. It is the first start of Gustafson’s career.
Three Hawkeyes scored in double figures, including Ally Disterhoft (21), Tania Davis (14) and Christina Buttenham (14).
Junior Ally Disterhoft closed the contest with 21 points. It is the fifth time this season she has scored 20 or more points in a contest. She has reached double figures in every game this season and in 65 of 71 career starts. The co-captain is 19th on Iowa’s all-time scoring list (1,309 points) and 21st on the all-time rebounding list (541 rebounds).
Sophomore Christina Buttenham set a career high with 14 points in 27 minutes off the bench.
Freshman Tania Davis matched her career high with six assists for the second straight game.
The Hawkeyes return to Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Thursday, Jan. 28 to face Michigan at 7 p.m. (CT).
