Cops chase wanted man in Mason City neighborhood
MASON CITY – A wanted man led law enforcement on a foot chase just after midnight Friday before he was caught and taken to jail.
Joshua Allen Bendickson, age 21 of Mason City, was pulled over by law enforcement Friday at about 12:13 AM near Pierce Avenue and 10th Street NW. The deputy stopped the vehicle because the owner has a suspended license. Apparently, Bendickson – a convicted felon wanted on two warrants who was a passenger in the vehicle – fled the traffic stop, leading to a foot chase. After a short pursuit, he was caught and arrested.
Bendickson was charged with interference with official acts. He had been due in court on December 8 to answer for a charge of illegal drug possession but failed to appear, leading to an arrest warrant. He was also wanted n connection to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He remains jailed on bond at this time.
