MASON CITY – A Mason City woman will spend the next 3 weeks behind bars after her second drunk driving conviction.
Mason City police stopped 52-year-old Jean Kae Graupman on the evening of September 10, 2015 as she blew through a stop sign. She was arrested and charged with second offense operating while under the influence, driving under suspension, no proof of insurance and failure to obey a stop sign.
Graupman entered a guilty plea to second offense operating while intoxicated on December 28. She was sentenced on January 19 to 365 days in jail with all but 21 days suspended. She was also ordered to pay $2,756.25 in fines and court costs, serve 2 years of probation and loss of license. She was placed on a $50.00 per month payment plan.
Graupman was arrested by Rockwell police back in 2006 for drunk driving. In addition to other penalties, she was ordered to pay $2,328.13 in fines and court fees. Records show she has failed to make a single payment on that balance.
