CHARLES CITY – A Charles City woman was arrested after police say she was involved in a violent incident, at least her second of the year.

Late on the evening of New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2015 at about 10:43 PM, Charles City police officers were called to an address in the 900 block of 9th Avenue. At the scene, police conducted an investigation of a domestic incident and placed 27-year-old Ashley Wiltse of Charles City under arrest. She was charged with first offense domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor. She was jailed and then released as she was appointed a public defender. She must appear in court January 20.

Ashley Wiltse, just two days prior to this alleged violent incident, was given a deferred judgement in a earlier case of domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury. She had been arrested and charged by Charles City police in April of 2015. In her deferred judgement, Wiltse was given one year of probation and ordered to pay $618.50 in fines and court fees. On January 6, she was charged in Floyd county district court with violating her probation.
