MASON CITY – The brother of a local man who was recently arrested for domestic abuse assault was arrested Sunday by law enforcement at the accused’s home.
Cerro Gordo county deputies were called to 17162 Kingbird Avenue – the home of local cell phone repairman Phillip Biermann – Sunday evening at about 7:31 PM to investigate a family offense. They had received a report of a possible no contact order violation in progress. Phillip Biermann had been recently arrested at his home for domestic abuse assault after an alleged victim complained of a head injury, and a no contact order had been imposed by a judge, banning him from going near the property or having any contact with his alleged victim. Mr. Biermann later explained the incident and his arrest this way: “I caught an affair in progress… The officers said they needed to take me no matter what because that is unfortunatly how the ‘system’ goes even if a person cries wolf.”
A deputy arrived at the Biermann residence and after an investigation, one subject was arrested – 24-year-old Anthony Joshua Biermann. He is the younger brother of Phillip Bierman and a convicted felon on theft and burglary charges who has already violated his probation at least twice just this year. Anthony Joshua Biermann was charged with driving with a revoked license. He was jailed for a few hours and then released.
Law enforcement is (or was) presumably investigating why Anthony Joshua Biermann was near his brother’s home, where a protected party may have been, and if there may have been a no contact order violation with any connection to the previous arrest of Phillip Biermann. No charges appear to have been filed at this time. After Anthony Joshua Biermann was released from jail Sunday, he left this message via social media:

This woman sounds nutty. She screws around on the husband and accuses him of abuse but still lets his brother continue to live there while she’s still screwing around with anorher guy…. Sounds disfunctional to me. She needs a brain transplant. Sounds like she likes playing victim…glad the husband gave his side. Why didn’t she and the big brave boyfriend just go answer the door? duh.
I think this affair has been going on longer than he thinks. I used to drive by this house every night and I used to see a car parked down the road with a male and female in it. I wonder if that had anything to do with this case. Either way it’s not nice to cheat

And then his idiot brother, Phil, posts everything about their relationship on Facebook and what his lawyer will do to her and this and that. Good Lord. She doesn’t want you anymore, Phil, move on. She must want a man who will get home before 2am. I couldn’t make this up if I tried. EPIC!
Then why doesn’t she just get a divorce instead of playing drama queen? Why let the brother still live there? Why let men into the house and place around in front of them? What sort of decent Mother does that? Sounds like her house is “raining men”.and she likes the drama & attention or she’d be more low key. I feel sorry for the kids. The husband has a right to air his side of the story.
