Wisconsin man again wanted here in Cerro Gordo county

MASON CITY – A Wisconsin man who led police on a dangerous chase back in 2013 has been charged with violating his probation for a third time – after two stays at Beje Clark – and now police are looking for him.

On February 18, 2013 at about 4:30 PM, Randal Anthony Roberts, now age 33 of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, was westbound on Highway 18 in Clear Lake and driving recklessly while law enforcement was pursuing when he ran a red light at North 24th Street and struck a pickup truck heading south on North 24th Street and turning east, causing about $1,000 damage to the pickup truck. Roberts was apprehended and charged with second degree theft, no driver’s license, speeding, no seat belt, felony eluding, failure to respond to traffic signal, failure to yield and unsafe passing.

Roberts later pled guilty to felony eluding and felony theft and was placed on probation, sent to the Beje Clark halfway house for an undisclosed amount of time, and given suspended 5-year prison sentences.   He was accused in November of 2013 violating his probation. It took months for law enforcement to locate him, and eventually he was found guilty and sent back to Beje Clark.

Roberts was was found guilty of violating his probation again this past August and sent to jail for 30 days. In November, he was a accused yet again of violating his probation, and never showed up in court for his hearing. Police are now searching for him. He still owes nearly $2,000 is court fees and restitution in this case.
