
ALBERT LEA, MINNESOTA – Police in nearby Albert Lea, Minnesota, are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident that claimed a woman’s life.
Around 8:00 PM Wednesday police were on the scene of a fatal hit and run crash involving a pedestrian located at Main and Kathrine streets. The victim was identified Thursday morning as 66-year-old Joanne Carol Kleine of Albert Lea.
This morning at 8:34 AM, Albert Lea police officers received information that a vehicle and an adult male matching the description were at the Motor Inn in Albert Lea. Officers arrived and located both. The vehicle was towed as evidence, and the male suspect was brought to police headquarters for questioning. Soon thereafter, 51-year-old Leslie David Jones of Hartland, Minnesota, was placed under arrest for Criminal Vehicular Homicide.
Police earlier said the suspect vehicle was photographed at the scene. They said it was a blue Ford truck, pictured in this story.
