OTTUMWA, IOWA – Kill ’em.

That’s what an Iowa legislator running for Congress says should be done with illegal aliens who commit a felony here and then try to get back into the country a second time.

Republican Iowa State Senator Mark Chelgren of Ottumwa (District 41) is a wheelchair parts salesman who has declared his candidacy for Congress. He has declared that he will challenge Dave Loebsack for Iowa’s 2nd district seat in Congress this coming November. He says he is running for Congress “to do my part to make us more prosperous and more free.”  He is strong supporter of the Second Amendment.

In a story recently published in the Knoxville Journal Express, Chelgren says that “every society based on Christian values is under attack”.

In what has become a controversial revelation, as reported in that newspaper, Chelgren has a harsh stance on illegal aliens who commit serious crimes in the U.S. and refuse to stay out of the country.

“If one (illegal alien) is found to have crossed into the country illegally, committed a felony while here, then been deported, he supports executing that individual if they break America’s immigration laws a second time,” the paper reported.

“There is no reason to have felons here who threaten our way of life,” Chelgren said for the article.

Under the current system, most illegals who commit felonies are deported, sometimes multiple times if they keep coming back.  They may face punishment here in the U.S. before they are sent back to their country of origin.

What is the difference between our own repeat felons ? Under his logic only illegals need to be killed, which is ludicrous, The number of repeat felons in Mason City alone is staggering..Mugshots is full of them. And the number of imports from Detroit, Chicago, St,Louis and other large cities are ruining this town.. So why don’t we start deporting them..2 days in a Mexican prison they would be crying mommy…no lets kill them. Another nut has fallen off the tree

You can blame the liberal judges for what is happening in Mason City. The police arrest them and the judges turn them loose before the cop can get back to the street. Like little kids, if there is no punishment there is no crime and they know it.

Wow! What has happened to the Republican Party? Have they all gone insane??

@Larry-I would guess he thinks if it works for Trump it might just work for him. I can understand Trump, at least he is trying to do something which is more than the other ones can say, but this is a little over the top. Deport them or throw them in jail unless it is a capital offense. Then it would be up to each state on how to proceed.

The are no studies that show that the death penalty is a deterent. Even when the death penalty was in greater use the number of death penalty cases did not decline. In fact may of those convicted have now been exonerates. I just hope an innocent has not been killed the the government.

Good enough for other countries, good enough for us.

Give them to Sheriff Joe and let them dig holes in the desert for 50 years. The death penalty in America is usually 30 years in jail waiting for appeals.

Well that one trumps Trump – but really our country has gone to hell since the death penalty is almost non existant.

That is pretty extreme. Deport them certainly. Jail them if they are repeat offenders, but unless the are guilty of a capital offense I don’t think killing would be the answer.

Mighty Christian of him.

Kill ’em, is a harsh statement. It needs to be softened up a little to terminate, or exterminate. But either way, I second that emotion. These vermin are like the energizer rabbit, they keep coming and coming and coming.
